Lessons Learned from a Sparrow's Quest for Sunflower Seeds

I have noticed a little Sparrow bumping against my greenhouse window for a couple of weeks. The first thought was Mr. Sparrow recognized his reflection in the window.  After numerous bumps, I realized he was in relentless pursuit of the large sunflower heads that lay on the drying rack in front of the window. He was quite a pesky little fella! I shooed him away several times.

After being away for several days, I returned to my greenhouse yesterday. Low and behold, Mr. Sparrow is inside! I have no idea how he got in, as there are no apparent openings. All windows and doors were closed. This uninvited guest was helping himself to the delicacy of my Summer Lovin Sunflowers. He and I had a little talk about vacating the premises. After several attempts to usher out the door, he left. I couldn't help but think there was a lesson in this debacle.

The sparrow and its pursuit of sunflower seeds in the greenhouse serves as a valuable lesson in perseverance. Despite facing obstacles and being shooed away, the sparrow remained determined to reach its goal. The encounter with the sparrow has me reflecting on the importance of setting goals and working diligently to achieve them.
