"Bloom Where You Are Planted"

Recently in downtown Pine Apple, a beautiful white petunia was found growing in an unlikely place.....a tiny crack in the sidewalk.
You might say it was growing between a "rock and a hard place". Not only was it growing, but it was also thriving! This tiny plant had a massive number of flowers for such a tiny plant in less-than-ideal conditions.
I could not help but think of the phrase "bloom where you are planted". This plant certainly bloomed and bloomed abundantly.
In our lives we are often "planted" in places that we don't want to be planted. Times may be hard financially, physically, emotionally, relationally, etc. We often experience trials that keep our focus on our problems and ourselves.
Maybe we desperately want to find a new job with better pay, better hours, etc, but no matter what we can't seem to make that happen. "Bloom where you are planted". There are lessons to be learned in the waiting.
Health issues often cause us to stop "living" by focusing on the negative. Aren't you just so inspired when you see someone facing health challenges that continues to exude joy and grace? They "bloom where they are planted".
No matter where you are today in life, there will be circumstances come your way that you would like to change but are powerless to change - at least for the moment. Like this little flower, let's bloom where we are planted and bloom abundantly. What does that look like for you this week? How can you "bloom where you are planted"?
If this little petunia can bloom like that in the crack of a sidewalk, can't we bloom at home, work, school? Let's start blooming!!
